OpenGL® graphical user interface for net.Plexor - interactive large network analysis library
Presented by Jernej BODLAJ
Type: Oral presentation
Track: General session
Content
Recently we started a development of net.Plexor - a new library for large network analysis and visualization that is based on the experiences gained in the development of program Pajek. In this paper we present some results of experiments how to provide functionality and algorithms, efficiently utilizing potential of modern hardware based on preferably parallel algorithms for interactive visualization and analysis partially based on OpenGL® and OpenCL® technologies. Our goal is to build an efficient, multi-platform software, capable of exhaustive large network analysis. We assess mainly the visualizing part, its performance on typical personal computer, its main concepts as display, navigation, node picking, editing and some other interactive features.
